The North Carolina Railroad Company has named Andrew Tate vice president real estate, responsible for leading the strategic focus for all of the real estate assets of the company. Tate succeeds Charles Burnell, who retired earlier this year.
Before joining the North Carolina Railroad Company, Tate served as president of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development for the past 10 years. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“The Vice President of Real Estate is responsible for managing the real property assets of the Company and we are pleased Andrew is joining our organization,” said North Carolina Railroad Company President Scott Saylor. “Anna Lea Moore will continue to lead our statewide economic development rail investment strategy and related partnerships.”
“The North Carolina Railroad is a visionary organization and its land assets are an integral part of our state’s infrastructure,” said Tate. “I’m excited to transition into a new role managing this historic piece of real estate.”
The North Carolina Railroad Company manages the use of 317 miles of track stretching from Charlotte to the Port of Morehead City.
