Dallas-based TNW Corporation (TNW), which owns and operates short line railroads and logistics centers, is celebrating 35 years of business in 2017.
TNW began in 1982 as a holding company for the Texas North Western Railway (TXNW), a short line, serving customers in the Texas panhandle near Sunray, Texas, with an interchange connection on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad.
Now, TNW operates as a holding company for three short line railroads and three logistics centers in Texas, and the company partners with a short line railroad and port facility in Indiana.
“We’re extremely proud of the progress the company has made since 1982. Through steady internal growth and a series of strategic acquisitions, we have built a solid foundation for continued success in the future,” said Paul Treangen, TNW chief executive officer. “As we continue to expand our operations and become more involved in economic development initiatives with the communities and commercial development entities in our market areas, TNW is well positioned for future opportunities.”
